Project Overview

Seven townhouse buildings (three to three-and-a-half storeys) totaling 40 units at Central Ave, Delta, BC. Modelled gross floor area is ≈ 4,066 m² across 11 unit types. The Building Permit compliance path is BC Energy Step Code Step 3 for Part 9 buildings.

We used HOT2000 software to develop proposed and reference models per BCBC 2024 9.36.6 using 9.36.5 modeling standards. The study optimized envelope U-values, glazing SHGC/U-value, and heat-pump selections, and produced City of Delta permit documentation.

Our Contribution

  • Whole-building energy model HOT2000 (v11.13 b43); 9.36.6 performance with 9.36.5 reference.
  • Parametric study FDWR/SHGC, U-values, airtightness, ASHP sizing.
  • Permit package inputs Step Code checklists, proposed & reference files, reports.
